He Who Rides The Tiger

Bernie Taupin´s Album "He Who Rides The Tiger" erscheint am 10. März 2009 in einer Neuauflage bei American Beat Records. Das Album ist im Jahr 1980 auf schwarzen Vinyl erschienen und war Bernie´s drittes Solo Album. Gäste auf diesem Album sind Elton John, David Foster, Tom Scott und Jeff Pocarno.

Der Countdown läuft

Der Countdown für den 100.000sten Besucher läuft. In der Nacht von Mittwoch auf Donnerstag hat sich die Nummer 90.000 eingefunden. Diesmal gab es kein Gewinnspiel.

Als Zeichen dafür, dass der Countdown läuft, habe ich die sechste Stelle im Counter freigeschaltet. 

Für den 100.000sten Besucher wird es etwas ganz besonderes geben. Etwas was noch niemand hat. Was das sein wird, werde ich in kürze bekannt geben.

Letzte Vorbereitungen für die Oscar Party

Elton John liegt in Sachen Oscar-Party in den letzten Zügen. Der Sänger will seine Fete am 22. Februar, also nach der Verleihung der Academy Awards, steigen lassen. Sämtliche Einnahmen kommen - wie immer - seiner Aids-Stiftung zugute. Die Gäste erwartet ein Cocktail-Empfang, ein ausgedehntes Dinner und Auftritte von Musikstars. Noch ist allerdings nicht klar, wer auf der Bühne stehen wird. Im Publikum werden aber wohl Nicole Kidman, Mary J. Blige und David und Victoria Beckham sitzen.

Donovan Aston tritt heute Abend in Miltenberg im Beavers mit seiner Show "One Voice One Piano" auf. Rund zwei Stunden lang begeistert Donovan Aston das Publikum mit viel Gefühl in der Stimme und versierten Fingern am Flügel mit Klassikern wie "Candle in the Wind", "Your Song", "Rocket Man", “Can You Feel the Love Tonight“ und vielen anderen Hits aus vier Jahrzehnten von einem der größten Künstler aller Zeiten, Sir Elton John.

Die Tickets kosten im Vorverkauf 7 Euro und an der Abendkasse 9 Euro.

Donovan Aston wird am Freitag 23. Januar 2009 mit seiner Show "One Voice One Piano" The Greatest Hits of Elton John in Miltenberg im Beavers auftreten. Rund zwei Stunden lang begeistert Donovan Aston das Publikum mit viel Gefühl in der Stimme und versierten Fingern am Flügel mit Klassikern wie "Candle in the Wind", "Your Song", "Rocket Man", “Can You Feel the Love Tonight“ und vielen anderen Hits aus vier Jahrzehnten von einem der größten Künstler aller Zeiten, Sir Elton John.

Die Tickets kosten im Vorverkauf 7 Euro und an der Abendkasse 9,00 Euro. 

Donovan ist mit der Show bereits am 21. Januar 2009 in Wiesbaden im Dorint aufgetreten.

Elton John und Amy Winehouse?

LOS ANGELES (die-news) - Elton John plant seine diesjährige Oscar-Party. Jedes Jahr gibt der Sänger eine riesige Aftershow-Party. In diesem Jahr, so Insider, wolle John sicherstellen, dass es die beste Feier aller Zeiten werde. Deshalb, so die Gerüchte, soll Elton Amy Winehouse gefragt haben, ob sie nicht auftreten wolle. Ein Insider sagte der "Mail On Sunday": "Elton hat vor, das beste Varietee zu buchen, und er ist sehr an Amy interessiert."
Bei Elton John standen schon Mary J. Blige und James Blunt auf der Bühne. Seine Oscar-Partys gelten als das Event des Jahres. Die Promis reißen sich jedes Jahr um eine Platzierung auf der Gästeliste. (wir berichteten)

Hallo EJ-Fans,

ich habe heute zweierlei für Euch. Zum einen ist es ein sehr gutes/schönes Angebot und zum anderen eine Bitte um Unterstützung für einen guten Zweck.

Also:
Ich habe einen Mitschnitt von der New Years Eve Paty in der O2 Arena in sehr guter Qualität. Zwar wurde die Reihenfolge der Songs bei der ITV-Übertragung etwas geändert und es fehlen 5 Songs aber wie gesagt, Bild- und Tonqualität sind genial, die Werbeunterbrechungen sind auch entfernt. Man sieht auch einige Male sehr schön die ganze Arena, da kommt die tolle Stimmung sehr gut rüber. Ich würde sagen, das kommt echt fast an ein "official release" heran und ist ein absolutes "must have" .

Jetzt zum guten Zweck des Ganzen:

Ich würde jedem interessierten Fan gegen eine kleine Spende in Höhe von mind. 9,-Euro (nach oben offen) eine Kopie anbieten. Der Erlös geht dann komplett an die EJAF.

Ich habe es für mich schon als Poster machen lassen. Es kommt total super raus und ist auch etwas, das man nicht überall kaufen kann . Wer die Datei in Originalgröße und ohne die Schrift haben möchte, schickt wie gehabt ne Mail an mich und bekommt sie gegen eine kleine EJAF-Spende gemailt .

Rekordverdächtig

Diese Zahl ist wohl absolut Rekordverdächtig. Vom 12. November 2008, das war der Tag an dem der WDR bei uns gedreht hat, bis heute ist www.eltonjohnfan.de 20.000 mal angeklickt worden. Als der Kameramann über meine Schulter gefilmt hat, stand der Counter bei 67.027. Heute morgen gegen 10:45 Uhr stand er dann auf 87.029. 

Sehr viel "Heavy Traffic"  war natürlich zur Zeit der Red Piano Shows in Deutschland. Doch auch im Moment wird die Seite gut besucht. Wenn das so weiter geht, können wir im Februar den 100.000sten Besucher hier begrüßen.

Zurück zu Watford?

Kehrt Elton in sein Amt als Ehrenpräsident beim FC Watford zurück? Elton John trat im vergangenen Jahr (Oktober 08) aufgrund von Differenzen zwischen ihm und dem Chairman Graham Simpson von seinem Posten beim Watford Football Club zurück. Simpson hat inzwischen den Posten verlassen - und Elton hat bereits eine Einladung angenommen, das Gelände wieder zu besuchen, so der Trainer Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers zur britischen Zeitung "Daily Express": "Er ist eine der größten Kultfiguren, die mit dem Watford Football Club assoziiert werden. Leute wie Elton John sind hier seit vielen Jahren involviert. Mir ist es wichtig, dass solche Leute auch Anteil an der Zukunft haben. Ich war hocherfreut, als er meine Einladung annahm... und er war großartig mit den Spielern und Angestellten. Er rief mich später an, als er nach Hause kam, und dankte mir für den Tag."

Der Song für die 2. Kalenderwoche wurde dieses mal von Lisa Zernechel vorgeschlagen. Der Song heißt Ticking und ist vom Album Caribou aus dem Jahr 1974. Leuider ist das Thema immer noch aktuell.

Stephan Tlach aus Hückelhoven unterstützt die Deutsche Krebshilfe

Nachdem die erste Aktion ein voller Erfolg geworden ist, hat Stephan Tlach sich entschieden eine weitere Aktion zugunsten der Deutschen Krebshilfe zu starten. Vom 24. Dezember 2008 bis zum 24. Januar 2009 zählt wieder jeder Besuch. Ihr müsst einfach nur eines tun: Nach Eurem Besuch bei www.eltonjohnfan.de einfach die Seite www.stephantlach.com besuchen und ein Cent geht automatisch an die Deutsche Krebshilfe.

Zur Info: Bei der ersten Aktion sind bei 325 Besuchen insgesamt 19,50 Euro zusammen gekommen. Tamara Baumli hatte sich bereit erklärt, den Betrag um 5 Cent pro Besucher zu erhöhen, so dass bei der ersten Aktion 0,06 Cent pro Besucher gespendet worden sind.

Ich finde diese Aktion genial und bin der Meinung, wir müssen sie unbedingt unterstützen.

Billy Elliot kommt nach Deutschland

Nach dem das Musical Billy Elliot seine Pforten in Melbourne geöffnet hat, kommt es wohl bald auch nach Deutschland, Korea und Japan. Wir werden Euch natürlich auf dem Laufenden halten wenn es neue Informationen gibt.

Auf Rekordjagd gehen

Im Jahr 2009 möchte ich mit eltonjohnfan.de so richtig auf Rekordjagd gehen. Zunächst gilt es die 100.000er Marke zu knacken. Wenn es mit den Besucherzahlen so weiter geht, wird sich derjenige (oder diejenige)  im Februar 2009 einfinden. Am 31. Dezember 2009 gegen Mitternacht stand der Zähler bei 85.176. Ich bin mal gespannt, wie viele es im Kalenderjahr 2009 werden.
