Der Veranstalter des Konzertes in Regensburg meldet, dass das Konzert mittlerweile komplett ausverkauft ist! Man kann sich allerdings auf eine Warteliste setzen lassen falls jemand seine Tickets zurückgeben möchte.

Am 29. Dezember 2012 traf sich ein kleiner Teil der Elton-John-Fangemeinde von www.eltonjohnfan.de in Oberding/Bayern. Für alle, die nicht wissen wo das ist: Das ist in der Nähe von München.

Wir hatten ein paar lustige Stunden und auch ein sehr interessantes Gesprächsthema! Es war toll mit Euch und wir können das gerne so oft wiederholen wie Ihr wollt!!!!

Happy Birthday Zachary! Der kleine Sohn von Elton und David feiert heute bereits seinen zweiten Geburtstag. Wir wünschen ihm für diesen Tag alles alles Gute. Lass dich reich beschenken.

Die diesjährige Spendenaktion ist abgeschlossen. Ich übergebe einfach mal das Wort an Tamara, die ach in diesem Jahr sich alle Mühe gegeben hat.

die diesjährige Spendenaktion zu Gunsten der EJAF ist beendet und war wieder sehr erfolgreich!! Durch den Verkauf der Kalender und der DVD (vielen Dank an Karin dafür!!) ist ein Betrag von 366,00 Euro zusammen gekommen. Das sind nach heutigem Kurs 297,00 Britische Pfund. Ich habe das natürlich aufgerundet auf 300,00 Pfund und soeben per paypal überwiesen.

Die Bestätigung seht Ihr unten. Vielen Dank an alle, die mitgemacht haben, es hat wieder viel Spaß gemacht und ich habe mich sehr über die vielen positiven Rückmeldungen gefreut!!!

A Holiday Message from Elton

Twenty years ago this month, the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) began as a hopeful dream, and I'm so proud of all we've accomplished together.

Thanks to the generosity of concerned friends like you, EJAF has grown into one of the largest HIV/AIDS funders in the world. Since 1992, we have raised more than $275 million in support of grassroots organizations. Our grantees conduct innovative HIV prevention programs, raise awareness, fight stigma, and provide treatment, care, and services to people living with the disease in 55 countries around the globe.

Beyond the urgently needed dollars we provide to fight the epidemic, EJAF has also emerged as a forceful and effective voice for change. We advocate for access to life-saving medicines for the poor. We speak out for gay rights and for accessible sexual health services for young people. We champion health and economic equality for African Americans. And we publicly criticize harmful and prejudiced incarceration practices that stigmatize and punish HIV-positive prisoners.I'm especially proud of our Foundation's reputation as a relentless advocate for those without a voice in society. We take strong positions on controversial issues. We're not afraid to speak our minds, to shout at the top of our lungs, and to get people to pay attention to this issue. And we're going to keep shouting for as long and as loud as we need to end this epidemic.

As I stated in my keynote address at the International AIDS Conference this past July, the AIDS disease is caused by a virus, but the AIDS epidemic is NOT. The AIDS epidemic is fueled by stigma. By hate. By misinformation. By ignorance. By indifference. We can do something about these things by working together.

That's why I need your continued help – so that EJAF can continue to speak out and fight for the changes we need to make in our society that will lead to an AIDS-free generation, and eventually an AIDS-free world.

The Bitch is Back: Elton John shows why he’s a legend

I don’t care what anyone says, Sir Elton John is one of the greatest rock stars of all time.

In the late ’60s he broke (and gender-bended) the mold, with his over-sized glitter-y glasses and bedazzled dinner jackets. A lot has changed since those days but there is still something impressive and iconic about the man that was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight. Back then, there were questions about his homosexuality – that hasn’t been the case for some time now. He’s lovingly dubbed Auntie Elton, media queen, the godfather (godmother?) of Sean Lennon and the Beckham kids and known for publicly tearing into Madonna on more than one occasion.

But at the end of the day, despite brushes with the paparazzi, he is most importantly, a singer-songwriter legend. It’s no mistake Elton John’s career has spanned four decades with over 250 million records sold worldwide. This became very apparent to me at his concert Thursday night at Impact Arena.

I was raised on the jukebox by my father, true-blue rock ‘n’ roll from the ’60s and ’70s, so I went into this pretty well-versed in the Book of Elton, or so I thought. But seeing him live in concert only made me love him even more.

He opened with “The Bitch is Back”, setting the energy high off the top. There he was in the flesh, with the tinted glasses (though considerably smaller since the ’70s) and a signature long black jacket with lots of sparkles. There he was belting, “I can bitch, I can bitch, ‘cause I’m better than you” and I believed every word. He is larger-than-life, oozing with attitude and I never, ever want to piss him off.

He quickly followed with gusto into an obvious crowd-pleaser, “Bennie and the Jets.”

Elton was a complete professional, getting up and bowing for the crowd between every song. There was none of that excessive banter between tunes that makes you wonder whether a performer is being genuine or fake. He gave just the right intro into every song and delivery.

I really shivered during “Rocket Man” especially at those famous words, “I’m going to be high as a kite by then.” He wrapped it up in one hell of a piano solo.

The band, including the original drummer from the Elton John band and Rosa and Lisa Stone of Sly and the Family Stones fame, gave 110% throughout the show. They faded into the backdrop for Elton’s solo of “Nikita” which was soft and touching.

Sir Elton told the crowd this would be his last show of the year – besides one solo performance without the band – before jam-packing hits into the tail-end of the set. He played “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” (and a few lighters went up), “I’m Still Standing” and “Crocodile Rock” to big cheers and wails. It was impossible not to get excited during “Crocodile Rock” as everyone was singing out that famous, catchy chorus. If you weren’t bumping around in your seat, you were out of it and doing the twist.

The final song was “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” (and I couldn’t help but think what an absolute abomination the Nickelback cover is) and Elton left briefly before coming back, signing lots of autographs for the front row and going to his encore – “Circle of Life” and my personal favorite from Auntie’s catalogue, “Your Song.”

For me, the setlist was spot-on. My favorite era of the Elton is, of course, the oldies so I was warm and cozy from “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters” all the way to “Daniel.” But that being said, I wouldn’t say there was necessarily something for everyone. By recent times, he’s best known for the Lion King soundtrack and he only played one song – “Circle of Life” – and it was the very last one. What about “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” or “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

I’m going to be totally honest with you, I went home and downloaded the Lion King.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s impossible to play all the hits in one concert. I realized that while the persona of Elton John is big, his catalogue is at the core of that. He is an excellent singer-songwriter, performer and poet. The fact that he throws a damn good Oscar party every year (to raise money for AIDS research, no less) is just the glittery cherry on top.

Thanks to Elton for a fun evening in Bangkok. I’ve still got “Tiny Dancer” stuck in my head.

Elton John Live in Regensburg

"Es handelt sich in der Tat um ein Solokonzert. Die Gage für Elton John ist übrigens davon völlig unberührt.
Der höhere Preis ist dem sehr kostenaufwendigen (und schönen) Ambiente geschuldet und der Tatsache, dass wir
Kein Stadionkonzert oder Riesenopen-Air sind, sondern mit rund 3.000 Plätzen einen für einen solchen Superstar
recht intimen Rahmen liefern. Was dann auch für ein intensiveres Erlebnis sorgt.

Elton John kommt für zwei Konzerte nach Österreich

Der Pop-Barde spielt am 18. Juni in der Wiener Stadthalle und am 19. Juni in der Salzburgarena. Im Rahmen seiner Welttournee 2013 gastiert Elton John auch zweimal in Österreich. Das erste Konzert findet am 18. Juni in der Wiener Stadthalle statt, tags darauf beehrt der Brite die Fans in der Salzburgarena.

Die günstigsten Tickets in der Stadthalle sind um 59,90 Euro zu haben, ein "VIP-Platinum"-Zugang schlägt mit 300 Euro zu Buche. In Salzburg starten die Sitzplatz-Preise bei 89,50 Euro.

Ein weiteres Konzert in Deutschland - Elton John and Band am 21. Juli 2013 in Regensburg

Elton wird ein weiteres Konzert in Deutschland im Jahr 2013 geben. Am 21. Juli 2013 wird er bei den 11. Thurn und Taxis Schlossfestspiele und ist im Innenhof des Schlosses auftreten. Die Karten kosten zwischen 228 und 139 Euro. Der Vorverkauf ist bereits gestartet.

Spendenaktion für die Elton John AIDS Foundation 2012

Wie in den Jahren zuvor möchte ich wieder eine Sammelaktion für die EJAF starten. ~~Dieses Jahr gibt es leider „nur“ den Kalender, da ich keine exklusiven Aufnahmen von Konzerten in guter Qualität bekommen konnte.~~ Der Kalender besteht wie in den vergangenen Jahren aus Fotomontagen und Bildern von Konzerten oder offiziellen Anlässen.

Der Preis für den Druck beträgt wieder 9,95 und ich würde ihn für 15.00 Euro anbieten. Es darf selbstverständlich gerne nach oben aufgerundet werden. Bestellungen nehme ich ab sofort unter meiner email-Adresse tammy.baumli@t-online.de entgegen.

Er ist der bestverdienende Musiker 2012: Produzent und Rapper Dr. Dre kommt laut dem US-Magazin "Forbes" auf ein Brutto-Einkommen in Höhe von 100 Millionen Dollar. Neben Dr. Dre stehen Pink Floyd Sänger Roger Waters und Elton John auf dem Treppchen.

Der 47-jährige Dr. Dre ist der bestverdienende Musiker 2012. Er ist eine der bekanntesten Personen im Musikgeschäft und hat unter anderem auch mit Snoop Dogg und Eminem zusammengearbeitet. Im August wurde er bereits als der bestverdienende Promi gekürt. Besonders bekannt sind auch seine "Beats by Dre"-Kopfhörer. Der zweite Platz geht an den Sänger der Band Pink Floyd. Roger Waters hat in diesem Jahr ganze 88 Millionen Dollar verdient. Nicht ganz so groß ist der Abstand zu Platz 3: Sänger Elton John belegt das unterste Treppchen mit einem Brutto-Einkommen von rund 80 Millionen Dollar. Nummer eins des letzten Jahres hat einen Platz auf Podest knapp verfehlt: U2 belegt dieses Jahr Platz 4.

Britney Spears ist die bestverdienende Frau dieses Jahr: Sie hat ein Brutto-Einkommen von rund 58 Millionen Dollar, unter anderem durch ihre Parfum-Linie mit Elizabeth Arden und ihrem letzten Album "Female Fatale". Knapp hinter Britney liegt Taylor Swift auf Platz 8 mit 57 Millionen Dollar Einkommen. Platz 12 geht an Rihanna, Platz 13 an Lady Gaga und Platz 15 an Katy Perry. Peking - Sir Elton John (65) hat ein Konzert in Peking dem regimekritischen chinesischen Künstler Ai Weiwei (55) gewidmet. Beide hatten sich vor dem Auftritt des britischen Popstars am Sonntag in der Wukesong-Arena getroffen.

Den rund 12 000 Besuchern sagte Elton John anschließend, seine Show sei besonders für Ai Weiwei bestimmt. Der berühmte Künstler, der 2011 für 81 Tage inhaftiert war und heute noch nicht wieder das Land verlassen darf, war völlig überrascht.

«Ich habe mich in ihn verliebt, obwohl wir weniger als zehn Minuten zusammen verbracht haben», schrieb der 55-Jährige am Montag im Kurznachrichtendienst Twitter über Sir Elton. «Er ist ernsthaft, großzügig.» Ai Weiwei veröffentlichte gemeinsame Fotos und auch ein Bild des britischen Musikers mit seinem kleinen Sohn.

Eine Reaktion der Kulturbehörden auf die Geste der Solidarität lag zunächst nicht vor. Ausländische Sänger müssen sich in China die Liedertexte vor Konzerten genehmigen lassen, weil die Zensur unliebsame politische Inhalte fürchtet. Im Rahmen seiner Asientournee plant Elton John am 6. Dezember noch ein weiteres Konzert in der südchinesischen Metropole Guangzhou.

Die isländische Sängerin Björk sorgte 2008 in Shanghai für Wirbel, als sie sich für die Unabhängigkeit Tibets einsetzte. Am Ende ihres Protest-Lieds «Declare Independence» rief sie «Tibet, Tibet» und ließ die Textzeile «Raise your flag» (Hisst eure Flagge) folgen.
